A fun piece based on Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" by J.S. Bach.
There's no piano part for this piece.
Instead, I have created an upbeat, "pop-style" backing track for flute-players to play along to.
Not only that, but there are 3 versions of increasing difficulty, each one involving an increase in complexity of the use of double-tonguing.
It really is fun and imaginative way of practising and improving your double-tonguing skills.
Fresh ideas in flute music
We've all heard of the famous "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" by Bach,
and flute-players have most likely heard of "Double-tonguing". If you don't know, it's a method of playing
super-fast notes on the flute.
In single-tonguing, a flute-player articulates notes with a "Te" sound ...
but in double-tonguing, they use "Te -Ke" repeatedly on fast notes to enable fast passages of even notes
to be played at incredibly fast speeds.
So in "Tucca-Tucca-Toccata," I have arranged Bach's iconic piece - not only as a
fun piece to play,
but as an exercise to aid the practice of double-tonguing.
Listen:
There are 3 versions of "Tucca-Tucca Toccata:
Version 1 (Single tonguing): Version 2 (Partial double tonguing): Version 3 (Mostly double tonguing):
Flute parts only - to be played along to the free backing track (no piano accompaniment).
Included in one download: three versions - Version 1 (Single tonguing),
Version 2 (Partial double-tonguing), and Version 3 (Mostly double-tonguing). $6 (£5.49)
